Your Placement.

Placements will normally be for a six week period. This allows participants an in-dept experience of development work. You may of course volunteer for a longer or shorter period if necessary.

Shorter Placements.

Some participants due to family and work commitments can only volunteer for a very short time. The Two Week programme caters specially for those volunteers.

Accommodation.

Accommodation at the project base will be in local building and will be extremely basic - good by Third World standards but very low by European standards. In some instances we may accommodate you with a local family adjacent to the project.

Food.

Food will normally be provided at the project base. You will eat the same basic food as the locals. People with special diets or who are fussy eaters are likely to experience problems. In some projects, you may eat with a local family or you may be required to cook for yourself.

Back Up.

Your placement project has been selected to provide you with the support and guidance you require. In addition, Humanitarian Volunteers representatives will be on hand to visit and assess you on a regular basis
